Home Sweet Home Show 2010, Win Main Street Marketing Dining Cards!
The 8th Annual Home Sweet Home Show will be held at Ashe County High School on April 17, 2010 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The show attracts over 100 vendors and thousands of people each year. With door prizes estimated at over $4,000 including a Craftsman Lawnmower, this show will not disappoint from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave.
Home Show vendors include anything you need to build, renovate, finance, furnish, or clean your home. “We are also a service fair,” said Charles Bateman, from Main Street Mar
keting- organizer of the home show, “in that other companies that are outside of the traditional home building industry will be represented, i.e — Health Drinks, Assisted Living, and many more.”
Vendors will display their products, answer any and all questions, product demonstrations, giveaways, and offer amazing one-day specials. This is a venue that is really important to Ashe County businesses, so they will be offering unheard of deals and giveaways to earn the public’s business.
“Everyone is pinching their pennies nowadays, yet many families could really benefit from the product or services offered at our show. What better way to comparison shop, than to meet the local businesses in person. Our show is a community event, now with over $7000 in door prizes,” said Charles. This is an indoor event that is FREE to the public. You can register for a door prize for only $1, or find a door prize coupon around town. After the brutal winter, businesses are doing everything they can to survive and endure.
I asked Charles about issues one should research before coming to the home show, if they are interested in building or home improvements. (There will be so many activities and information, even if you’re not considering building, though) Here are some questions he suggested:
* What is my budget?
* What is most necessary for me right now?
* What is going to help increase the value of my home?
* What is going to help decrease my monthly bills, i.e. heating, cooling, etc.?
* Go more in-depth that just online comparison — many online quotes do not include labor, delivery, miscellaneous fees, etc.
Kids will be welcome. We will have a healthy variety of food for families to enjoy from Sweet and Savory Bakery. They will also have many delicious treats for sale. For those that allow it, many of the booths have giveaways, candy, and other items for kids. There will also be a real Indy car that kids can see!

My question is do bathroom renovations really add as much value to a house as people say they do? What about kitchen upgrades?
