Freebie Friday: Southern Living at Home
This weeks Freebie is From Southern Living At Home Consultant, Julie Hodge. I am a big fan of Southern Living at Home.
Hi – my name is Julie and I am a proud mom of two girls, ages 5 and 7. I LOVE my girls, but I also like to have some time away from home, making new friends, and of course I love to shop! So a couple years ago I decided to become a Southern Living At Home Consultant, allowing me to buy awesome products from myself and share them with other women. I have made some great friends through my business, and I’ve also made good money! I even got to go on an all-expense paid vacation to Cancun, Mexico for 5 days with my husband last summer thanks to SLAH! If you’ve never heard of Southern Living At Home (SLAH), here’s a little history:
Before the turn of the last century, a gentleman farmer from North Carolina began publishing Progressive Farmer, a small agricultural magazine with the mission to improve the livelihood of farm families throughout the South. That determination for a better quality of life led to the birth of one of the most successful magazines published in America today. Southern Living came to life in the early 1960s and embraced the warmth of friendship in a gracious home environment. In recent years, thousands of readers have called in to ask how they can find many of the beautiful products they see in the pages of Southern Living. In response to those inquiries, a party plan company, Southern Living At HOME, was created in January 2001. Since then, it has enjoyed phenomenal success, making it the fastest growing party plan company in the history of direct sales. Dedicated to the same values and principles upon which the magazine was founded, Southern Living At HOME brings the pages of the magazine to life. The company also serves as a way for Southern Living to invite valued readers to share in its success. It stands committed to help entrepreneurs realize the dream of owning their own business and achieving personal and financial freedom.

Hmmm…an extra $500 – I think this time of year I’d have to put it into Christmas gifts for family and friends. Somehow we always say we’re going to budget throughout the year for gifts, but that never happens!

I would invest in a retirement account for my husband & myself with some of it & add some of it to my son’s college fund. These are things we are unable to contribute to at this time, but would love to if we had more income.

For me an extra $500 month would go towards fuel oil and Christmas gifts right now and towards a nice vacation later in the year.
