Freebie Friday: Silver and Stones Jewelry

This week, we have a beautiful giveaway from local jewelry makers Paul and Judy Goodwin. They own Silver and Stones Jewelry, and handcraft very unique pieces! Here is their story, in Judy’s own words:

It all started when I took a jewelry making class at Appalachian State University, in Boone, North Carolina, and fell in love with the art of creating beautiful unique jewelry. I started making jewelry to wear and as gifts for my family and friends, but, everywhere I went, people were asking about where I acquired what I was wearing. When I told them that I made it, they wanted me to make them something. So, Silver & Stones was created. I now help with the 6 week jewelry class at ASU taught every semester through the Craft Enrichment Program.

My husband, Paul, designs and crafts necklaces, earring, and bracelets from natural stone and sterling silver beads to create distinctive designs that have proven to be quite popular everywhere we go. I craft the wire wrapping of stones, creating earrings, pendants, and one of a kind wire wrapped designs using natural stones, sterling silver, copper, and brass. We are always adding new items and jewelry making techniques to our creations. The results become unique jewelry that can be worn everyday, complimenting casual, semi-formal and formal occasions.

Paul and I go to several festivals a year in addition to having items displayed locally in several venues, such as Green Mother Goods, and Maws Produce in Foscoe. Every stone used in our jewelry, is hand selected. Our commitment to providing beautiful jewelry is our top priority.

Two Christmases ago, I bought each of my kids some adorable necklaces, with animal shaped pendants, made out of natural stones.  They LOVED them!  I also gave my Step-Mother an exquisite rose quartz pendant on a silver chain, and she flipped over it!  I had always struggled with deciding what to give her, and I was thrilled that I found the perfect thing!

You can order online, from the website, if you see something you love.  However, Paul and Judy have hundreds of items that are not listed, since inventory moves so quickly.  They can also custom make items for you, if you don’t see exactly what you love! You may schedule a private jewelry show in your home, or catch one of the many craft shows and festivals in which the Goodwins participate.
